Description:

The year is 1919 and, amidst suffrage marches in Chicago, a women's social club is convening to rehearse their performance The Taming of the Shrew. In the classic play, suitors compete for the hand of the demure Bianca, but her father decrees that her fiery and tempestuous sister Katherine must wed first. Brave Petruchio accepts the challenge-and so begins a notorious battle of wits. As they rehearse, these non-committed Suffragettes will re-examine Shakespeare's story and their own status as women in a rapidly changing society. This production reimagines Shakespeare’s beloved comedy with an all-female cast.
